Hannah Patten

My name is Hannah Patten and I’m a 2D and 3D digital artist. I grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington and went to Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington for my undergrad. I majored in Art Education and minored in Art History. I taught traditional and digital art at the high school level for a year and decided to leave the profession to pursue my own passion for the arts. I’m currently getting my MFA in the Digital Arts at Digipen Institute of Technology. My goal is to become a 2D or 3D character design artist.

Work History

Character Artist – Game Vision Studio
November 2019 - Present Day

  • Currently creating 2D character design concepts for a start up mobile game.

  • Drawing character design silhouettes, face exploration, in game vfx action sheets, color comps, character reference call out sheets, and key character art. Working with an art director to bring the client’s vision to life.
     

3D Sculptor – Funko Games
November 2019

  • Created 2 sculpts to be 3D printed for a board game.

  • Used Zbrush to model and pose sculpts based on the clients key turnaround art.


Art Director – Digipen Institute of Technology
May 2018 - Aug 2019

  • Directed the visual assets and graphic design for the Digipen PAX West 2018 and 2019 booth.

  • Created the deliverables consisting of posters, desktop backgrounds, t-shirts, arcade inserts, and prize cards.


Creative Designer - Sound Publishing
March 2017 - August 2017

  • Used InDesign to create graphic designs for newspaper ads.

  • Worked with sales reps and clients to market a perfect ad look for each company.

  • Created marketing art in different languages for a mobile game app.

  • Created an entire year’s worth of lesson plans and units that emphasized creative growth goals of all students of different learning levels.

  • Educated a basic and advanced group of artistic students and taught a variety of mediums that connected to academic learning targets.

  • Taught an Adobe Photoshop class focused on photo manipulation, graphic design, vector art, and digital illustration.

  • Constructed the school’s curriculum for digital art incorporating digital illustration, cartooning, character design, isometric art, background art, and game art.

  • Organized and led a team of students to create a successful annual that concentrated on photography, journalism, and production skills.

  • Designed a comprehensive website as a learning tool for students.
